The dam is close to civilisation, and is a hotspot for the people living there. That doesn’t mean you can’t capture stunning portraits of one of the most common type of birds; ducks (as well as geese). Use the areas around you and focus on the details in the mundane. You don’t have to travel 5 hours by car and hike for another 5 hours to get something that you’re proud of and wish to show others. Sometimes it’s enough to walk 5 minutes down the road from your house.
