Whenever I think about my childhood, it is my experiences and the time I spent surrounded by nature that is foremost in my mind. Growing up in Norway, nature was an incredibly important part of my everyday life and the things I learned from the hours spent outdoors still linger with me as an adult today. Nature has played a fundamental part in shaping the person I am today, and the way I care about my surroundings and all living beings. However, during my years in high school and after moving to England, I have felt removed from this part of myself. This has made me feel lost and led me to question my identity. By experimenting with collecting and making prints from plants, visiting nature where I live in both England and Norway, as well as revisiting the places where my childhood memories were made, I have been able to reconnect with myself and my roots. I have realised who I am and why I am the person I am, while learning how important your childhood is to your adult self.
